Is there a difference between moonshiners outrunning the law in the 30’s and modern drivers handling the hairpin turns of Daytona Beach? No, it’s pure necessity. It’s a story about love. Love of danger. Love of speed. Love of heroes. Love of something that is so imperfect, that it is in fact perfect.
In the USA, NASCAR is seen as a sport that is only for certain types of people. You know the type. This film was meant to change that perception. NASCAR's relatable to everyone. It’s not just left turns. It’s a story of determination and love. Of underdogs and unlikely heroes. At its core it’s everything we rally around as a society. NASCAR is much bigger than its perception.
