Speak Spanish Or Stay Thirsty

Mexican beer brand Corona seems to be getting its revenge after its name was momentarily associated with a certain virus back in 2020, resulting in lots of tasteless jokes. This time, the joke’s on the customers. On the Strip in Las Vegas, the brand and its agency Mullen Lowe L.A. installed a vending machine equipped with voice activation. Passers-by were offered a free can of the new Corona Hard Seltzer Limonada – but only if they could ask for it in Spanish. Those who failed were offered free Spanish lessons from language learning platform Duolingo Plus, so they could get it right next time. A familiar style of activation, but one that always produces an amusing film to share online. Repeat after us: “Dame una Corona Hard Seltzer Limonada, por favor.”
