Using dull broadcasts to stop road accidents

Radio stations in Brazil are obliged to broadcast government news between 7pm and 8pm, ensuring that the time slot is the least appreciated by the country’s listeners. Especially as they’re often struck in traffic at that hour. So fans of Paradiso FM usually turn to the station’s app where they can listen to music instead. With this in mind, the station decided to use the app to help reduce traffic accidents. Linked to the car’s GPS, the app monitors the its speed and if it exceeds the limit the driver is “punished” with one minute of boring government information. It’s up to drivers to drive safe or be inflicted with governmental dullness.
