This pizza perfection just won a Gold at the recent Dubai Lynx awards. Did you know that an hour in airplane mode conserves more energy than turning off the light? So for Earth Hour last year, Pizza Hut in the United Arab Emirates encouraged its customers to disconnect from mobile and Wi-Fi for 60 minutes. If they did so, they got a free pizza in return. It worked because the brand’s agency, M&C Saatchi, had created a site with an integrated timer that only activates when you disconnect from your device. Once the hour is up, the pizza is delivered to your home. In 2021 more than 10,000 people took part, with media coverage reaching more than 7 million others. Hence the recent award, one of many the operation has picked up so far. Earth Hour returns on March 26. Ready to disconnect?
