Can you give us a brief overview of your structure and some of the clients with whom you work?

We’re a specialist design studio, not an agency, so our structure is kinda different to the typical agency structure. We keep our structure very flat, with minimal layers or hierarchy to create the opportunity for maximum collaboration. We believe a good idea can, and should, come from anywhere and we place high importance on valuing everyone’s role and contribution. We find that our flat structure keeps us agile and fast-flowing, which means our insanely talented team of artists, designers, creative technologists and producers can create amazing work a lot faster than more traditional agencies with multiple layers.
Our clients include Apple, Microsoft, Converse, Sony Playstation, and Sonos.

Your elevator pitch please! How do you position your agency to a brand? Why should they work with you – what do you bring to the table?

FutureDeluxe is a global creative studio with offices in London, LA and Sydney combining design, technology and moving image to craft aspirational visual experiences for future facing brands. A diverse group of artists, directors, designers and creative technologists with experimentation and innovation at its core. From concept through to final delivery, FutureDeluxe collaborates with brands to explore, imagine and define their future vision.

Can you talk us through a campaign and how you solved a problem for the client or made a difference to a brand?

For the past 3 years in a row we’ve worked with Nespresso to create their festive holiday campaigns, creating a large volume of premium content for display on screens in their flagship retail stores, and for distribution through their social channels. The first year we worked with them was 2020, and their brief originated as a live action brief. Nespresso had never worked in CG, nor had they ever considered it. But when the pandemic hit and like every other brand, Nespresso found they were unable to plan a live action shoot, they were forced to pivot and fulfil their content brief in CG. We pitched and won the work, and over the course of the project, we handheld the Nespresso clients through our process which was all new to them. At FutureDeluxe we focus heavily on R&D and experimentation to create work that has never been seen before, which requires a level of trust from the clients we work with. Nespresso gave us that trust and in turn they were blown away by the level of sophistication we were able to bring to the process, creating beautiful and magical environments in which to elevate their products and create aspiration for their brand. The fact that they have come back to work with us for the subsequent 2x xmas campaigns is testament to the fact that they have seen huge value in creating premium, sophisticated content in CG, and believe in the experimentation process to create exciting and original work to elevate their brand.

Without giving away your secret sauce of course, what does your roadmap for growth look like? Is it, for example, geographic expansion (if location is still a thing), or joining one of the growing indie agency networks? Developing more project work for other clients?

There are a few key ingredients to our growth strategy but the most important one is that as we grow, we focus on continuing to support our people, and foster a diverse and inclusive working environment which allows us to remain one of the top employers within the industry.

We’re looking to not only expand into new territories, with NYC being our newest studio opening, but also to grow our service offerings so we can support our clients across more areas of their business.
Our growth is also reliant on the relationships we build with our clients and we hope to build deeper stronger relationships with the brands we work with to be able to support them on a more long term basis.
