Amsterdam creative agency KRFL launch radical new Code School, Codam.

Agency develop name, identity, website and launch campaign for a school that's nothing like a school.

Independent creative agency Khanna\Reidinga\Faralley\LeBon (KRFL) today announces new work for Codam, a radical new education concept, modeled on Ecole 42 in Paris and pioneered by tech entrepreneur and TomTom founder, Corinne Vigreux.

Codam is a school with a completely new take on education - no teachers, no schedule, no rules, and a syllabus that has been completely gamified. The school has zero tuition fees and plans to smash the mono-cultural, male bias of the current tech industry.

"Code is unique in that there's no cultural bias. You might have spent the last few years working in a kitchen but if you can use logic to solve problems, then you are probably going to make a good coder", says Strategy Partner Rikki Khanna. "The code literally doesn't care who writes it."

"Our brief was simple," says Maarten Versteege, Design Partner at KRFL. "Make coding mainstream. So we needed to smash perceptions of it and inspire people who'd never considered coding, to apply. The name sounds more like a club and the refreshingly multi-colored identity was actually inspired by watching students code and seeing all the patterns, movements and colors that were used."

"In the same way that code will always be written differently by different people we've created a dynamic brand identity that never appears the same in any piece of communication", says Creative Partner Hesling Reidinga.

"Next up is a guerrilla poster campaign that attempts to overturn assumptions that people who don't code, may have about coding."

"With 15,000 coding jobs in the Netherlands going unfilled in 2016, its imperative that we take action. Broadening the appeal of code will not just help fill these places but will also, I believe, lead to better code. KRFL got this from the start, challenged us to be even more ambitious and have created the brand and creative platform we need for growth." - Corinne Vigreux, Founder, and President Codam.

Codam is the sister school of Ecole 42 in Paris, which was recently voted World's Best Code School, and is already accepting applications.

With no experience of code, you too can find out if you've got what it takes to join the world's most in-demand career path here.
