Gustav Johansson

Swedish born Gustav Johansson began making films at an early age experimenting with editing on a 2 channel VHS editor. At school, he began directing music promos for local bands. He studied art direction at Berghs School of Communication, which helped him develop his visual storytelling and idea exploration. His rebranding anthem for JC Penny is the best example of this. Shortly after graduating, in 2009, he was awarded the Shots Young Director Award, The Cannes Future Lions, ‘Young Gun of the Month’, The One Show Gold and a Clio Award. The same year, he joined Stockholm based production company Camp David and since launching his directing career he has had the chance to work with brands such as EuropCar, Chrysler, Dove, Nokia, and Husqvarna. Since then, Gustav has gone on to work for brands such as Volvo, H&M, Nike, HBO and Mercedes to name a few. His series of films for Mercedes ‘Grow Up’, featuring A$AP Rocky, picked up Gold, Silver Cannes Lions, and his work for Nike was awarded a Bronze Cyber Lion. Gustav has most recently collaborated again with adam&eveDDB, directing another film for H&M - this time featuring Winona Ryder and Elisabeth Olsen.
Harmony Korine

Harmony Korine was born in Bolinas, California on January 4, 1973. His family moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where he spent much of his childhood. He attended Hillsboro High School and went to New York at the age of 18, where he studied English at New York University for one semester before dropping out. During this time he met photographer Larry Clark, who would soon ask him to write the screenplay for what would become the film Kids, released in 1995.

In 1997 Gummo, written and directed by Korine, was released. Julien Donkey-Boy, his second film, followed in 1999. His third film, Mister Lonely (2007), would not be for another eight years.
Well known for his disturbing films, Korine has recently received many nominations for Spring Breakers (2012).

He signed with Iconoclast and worked for trailers of his famous films. He also shared his talent to create a music video for the band The Black Keys . 

Jean-Baptiste Mondino

Jean-Baptiste Mondino

French born Jean-Baptiste Mondino is an industry renowned fashion photographer and music video director currently residing in Paris. He begins his career, in 1970, for Publicis, collaborating with Façade.

He gradually went to photography, and realized some albums art covers.
As a reminder of the importance of these album art in his work, recently, in 2012, he realized the Sebastian album art, and the Love Songs’ one, the Vanessa Paradis’ album. Evolving to the fashion spheres of photography, he started his video clip director career. His extensive portfolio of works includes videos for artists such as David Bowie, Björk and Les Rita Mitsouko. His promo for Don Henley’s The Boys of Summer won multiple MTV awards in 1986, picking up ‘Best Video’, ’Best Art Direction’ and ‘Best Cinematography’.

In 1989 he founded his own production company through which he went on to direct videos for Sting, Madonna, Lenny Kravitz, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Vanessa Paradis among others, often working with the cinematographer Pascal Lebègue.

He has been awarded four times by “Les Victoires de la Musique”, for his fine video clips.

Today he is widely recognized within the fashion and photography industries for his stunning portraits and commercial campaigns.

From a commercial aspect, in his video director carrier, he has worked with huge brands such Nike, Gaultier and Calvin Klein. He has also directed alluring spots for Dolce & Gabbana, Dior, and Cacharel - to name a few.

He is now also represented by the newly formed Iconoclast Image, for his print campaigns. His latest commercial, for Dior, “J’adore”, a renewal of a classic Dior commercial, starring Charlize Theron, made famous the sentence, “C’est ça, que j’adore”. He also recently work The One, of Dolce & Gabbana, on two commercials: The One Scarlett, starring Scarlett Johansson, and The One Matthew with the great Matthew McConaughey. 

Jérémie Rozan

Jérémie Rozan

Jérémie Rozan is the founder of the multidisciplinary creative studio ‘Surface To Air’ and his work covers the widest possible range of artistic direction. As a director, he has signed campaigns for Lanvin fragrance, Diesel and Dom Pérignon champagne.

He has notably created a stunning spot for Louis Vuitton Jewelry, Voyage dans le temps starring model Alana Zimmer, exploring light and timescapes. At the same time, he has directed up to twenty music videos, including ‘We Are Your Friends’, which won an MTV music award, well known because of the Kanye West reaction. He has also directed promos for his friends such as Chromeo and Kid Cudi.
In 2013, he has worked on a worldwide fragrance campaign for Givenchy Play to be released in the summer and has begun his first feature film Collect Call.

Alongside commissioned work he has produced films for his own brand Surface to Air working with artists such as Kim Gordon and Sonic Youth, IT Girls like Daisy Lowe and Jeanne Damas.

For Surface To Air’s Autumn/Winter 2012 Collection he produced a beautiful teaser featuring two star crossed lovers and a walkable roller-coaster.

Jérémie has attracted the attention of the industry press featuring in Shots, Promo, Mirrorball, Creative Review and at a number of advertising and film festivals across the world, like Rushes Soho Shorts and Los Angeles Film Festival.

Karim Sadli

Karim Sadli is a French photographer, born and raised in Paris. He has grown in multicultural environment, which makes his love, for photography and creation, bigger. After studying literature and philosophy, at La Sorbonne, the young man sets in London for five years, to follow his studies in photography in the London College of Communication. Really soon, he made his way to fashion circles, thanks to his minimalistic style, tinted by sophistication. He also makes a brilliant usage of light, which helps him to excel in portraits, always black and white, but also in fashion photography.

He shoots Vanessa Paradis, Jeanne Moreau, Charlotte Gainsbourg, but also Prada Linea Rossa commercial, and many others.
He worked for prestigious company, as Giuseppe Zanotti, Isabel Marant, COS, Givenchy.

Currently represented by top talent agency Art + Commerce, alongside other prominent photographers such as Patrick DeMarchelier and Larry Fink, Sadli’s pared-back sets and signature minimalistic aesthetic have won him a legion of support from industry insiders and have also seen him work on a number of fashion films for Nars Cosmetics and Yves Saint Laurent accessories. He is now one of the most in-demand fashion photographers in the world. 

Gus Van Sant

Gus Van Sant

Gus Van Sant, famous American director, was born 1952 in Louisville, Kentucky from where he moved around a lot during his early years. As a child, he was interested in art and started making movies using home movie camera. He spent his senior year of high school in Portland, Oregon. With his friend Eric Edwards he made his first serious 20 minutes-black-and-white-drama film entitled The Happy Organ.

Later, Van Sant studied painting at the Rhode Island School of Design but he soon switched for filmmaking. Graduated from college in 1975, he moved in Los Angeles where he worked as an assistant director for Ken Shapiro. At the same time, he found time to make his own films, including one based on a story by William S. Burroughs.

He owes his fame to several of his films, like Good Will Hunting (1997) , or Harvey Milk (2008) which earned him many rewards. He also received the Award of the Best American Film for Elephant (2003) in 2005 and countless other winnings and nominations thanks to his works.

In addition to the film, Gus Van Sant is also dedicated to music. Indeed, he works as an art director with the American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, directed the video for the song Under the Bridge and photographed albums Blood Sugar Sex Magik (1991) and Stadium Arcadium (2006).

He published the photography book 108 Portraits and two music albums: Gus Van Sant and 18 Songs About Golf.

Iconoclast recently welcomed Mr Van Sant in the director family. He directed a trio of new BMW spots. The spots are a dizzying blend of beautifully filmed, sun-bleached running shots and poetic monologues from actors Michael Pitt (Boardwalk Empire), Sam Hazeldine (The Monuments Men) and Mickey Sumner (Frances Ha).
