Story A viral campaign starring rugby player Sebastien Chabal uses new technology. For the first time, a video implemented on a website can be controlled with a mobile phone. To promote OrangeFoot, the football broadcasting service of French Telco Orange allowed subscribers to watch French Football Championship games on OrangeTV, orange.fr and mobile phones.
Philosophie After 2 weeks of the campaign, 1.5 million hits were recorded on the web site, most of which were unique visitors. Also, over 1 million callbacks were recorded with over 180,000 calls daily. The equivalent in TV space purchase is estimated at 1 million euros.
Problem The challenge was to build a database of potential clients of email address and phone numbers.
