Story | We see a young man in a dark, confined space, dramatically lit by shafts of light. He confesses to various sins, presumably looking for absolution. Then we hear the voice of a regular guy outside asking: “Could you just read the meter, please?” The confessor is actually a meter reader under the deck of a suburban home, emotionally roiled by his empty stomach. Hunger leads to uncomfortable situations. |
