"New Kid" illustrates the lengths we'll go in order to make someone feel welcome. We meet a young boy who is swept off his feet by the arrival of an Irish girl in his American classroom. We follow him as he embarks on a journey, in search of a simple way to make her feel included and at home in her new country. The boy bravely enters unfamiliar places, at times putting his pride on the line, all in an attempt to make a connection with a stranger. Our film ends with a charming and unexpected gesture that brings two worlds together.
