After graduating from HEC Paris, David worked in management consulting in the US and Sweden, before starting his own company providing software solutions to websites, which he later successfully sold.
He did a stint in a pharmaceutical start-up before moving to China, where he graduated from the EU-China Managers Training programme in Beijing. He joined Publicis in Shanghai in 2003, where he served large international, regional and local accounts such as Carrefour, Cadbury, China Mobile, Dicos, HP, LG Electronics, Nestlé, Starwood, UBS, before launching the CRM & digital practice for Publicis in China.
He then moved back to France where he became managing director for Publicis' marketing services and digital activities, supporting local and international clients including AXA, BNP Paribas, Capgemini, Carrefour, Cartier, L’Oréal, Nestlé, PMU and Renault, in their digital transformation, helping them build data-driven digital ecosystems, platforms and services.
In 2014, David was appointed Chief Strategy Officer for Nurun, Publicis Worldwide’s digital design and technology global network, with 4,000 people in 15 markets.
In 2015, Publicis Worldwide has appointed David Gompel CEO of Publicis Greater China.
