Having tried and failed to achieve any sort of real success as a Bollywood film star, Toby joined the nascent content marketing world over 20 years ago. Cutting his teeth on accounts such as Microsoft, Goldfish and Toyota, he went on to head up the agency’s rolling content programme for ITV Digital (at the time the largest account in the sector).
In 2005, he and three colleagues broke away from an agency network and co-founded Sunday. In the early years, the agency won blue-chip clients such as Toyota, Westfield, Strutt & Parker, Allianz Petplan, Vodafone and the RICS. In its first decade, Sunday was awarded Marketing magazine’s Publishing Agency of the Year and Content Marketing Agency of the Year as well as numerous industry awards for both creativity and effectiveness. Sunday continues to grow and has added clients such as John Lewis, P&O Cruises and Morrisons to its roster, as well as working with charity clients, The Royal Marsden and Blue Cross.
Toby is responsible for the strategic, client-side and commercial operations at Sunday, as well as more generally for creating the best possible conditions that attract, motivate and develop the greatest people, wow the most challenging and passionate clients, and deliver the most effective and talked-about content marketing in the UK.
