Story Synopsis;Religious differences are still at the root of many conflicts around the world. Due to lack of understanding of other religions, people create opinions leading to communal hatred and violence. The Interreligious Council in Bosnia and Herzegovina wanted to tackle prejudice and raise awareness of the importance of inter-religious dialogue. The objective was to bring Christians and Muslims closer, starting a positive conversation. With a very limited budget, we set out to initiate this project in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and gradually transcend to other countries in the Balkans region.;Strategy; The ONE Posters were designed to show that Islam and Christianity used the same artistic devices to express their faith. We studied the history of both churches and mosques in detail and chose 8 art forms from architecture, culture and traditional elements, and brought them together on a single canvas. We also turned these posters into sleeves for the One Book, which the Interreligious Council in Bosnia and Herzegovina promoted at peace conferences across Europe and Middle-east, showing how there's so much more that unites us than sets us apart.;Outcome; The campaign received a total of 53 million impressions. From sending the posters to influential leaders like Pope Francis, Antonio Guterres and Donald Trump, to placing it in between the church and the mosque, we reached 96% of the total population of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and 100% of its online population. The posters are now being promoted at peace conferences across Europe, Middle-east and Asia. Two weeks after the launch, faith leaders came together for a common prayer for the first time after the Bosnian War.;Execution; The One posters were adapted from various churches and mosques around the world. The Byzantine mosaics of Palatine Chapel of Italy were merged with the Girih pattern mosaics of Bibi Khanym Mosque in Uzbekistan. The stained glass windows from Selimiye Mosque in Turkey were merged with Cocteau’s stained glass windows of Église Saint-Maximin de Metz in France. The doors are inspired by the Hasan 2 Mosque of Morocco and San Augustin Church of Philipines. Similarly, other elements like beads, carpets, relief and dome from churches and mosques around the world were brought together on a poster which also became a sleeve for the One Book. The One posters were promoted at peace conferences and art galleries across Europe and Middle-east.;Campaign Description; We created the One Art posters by bringing together common art forms from both Christianity and Islam. We studied the history of both religions and chose 8 art forms from architecture, culture and traditional elements, such as mosaics, stained glass, door carving, calligraphy, beads, carpets, relief and dome. We merged their individual styles seamlessly to create one poster. The art forms were adapted from churches and mosques around the world to show that there's so much more that unites us than sets us apart.;Brief With Projected Outcomes;Bosnia and Herzegovina (BIH) is a post-war, multinational, multi-religion country with an eventful history pertaining to communal unrest. The capital city of Sarajevo is a unique metropolis where 4 religions coexist. Within a radius of only 1km, there are places of worship for 4 different religions- Church, Mosque, Orthodox Church and Synagogue. Nowadays, Bosnia, along with other countries from Europe are witnessing humanitarian migration crises. This shows that religious differences are still the root of many conflicts around the world. Due to lack of understanding of other religions, people create opinions leading to communal hatred and violence. The Interreligious Council in Bosnia and Herzegovina wanted to tackle prejudice and raise awareness of the importance of inter-religious dialogue.
