Spreading the Love: How Agencies Celebrated Valentine's Day

Chemistry, T3, BSSP, Deutsch, The Community and The BAM Connection share their celebratory efforts.

Deutsch NY kicked off the morning receiving a Gold 2019 Healthy Workplace award. Honored by the Business Council of Fairfield County, Deutsch was recognized for understanding the competitive advantage of a healthy workforce and their established mindfulness program.

In addition to several other celebratory efforts, including an agency wide lunch, CEO Val DiFebo is encouraging employees to take the afternoon off!  Why? Val noted, “Valentine’s day is a day to express gratitude, and after our amazing 1st Q—launching brand building engagements for numerous clients, winning the global Reebok business and a substantial branding and development project in the machine learning space for one of the world's top consultancies—if Deutschers can leave the office early to enjoy Valentine’s day, it’s one way we can show our appreciation for their hard work, passion, and dedication to creating the neverbefore.”

Tim Smith, President, Chemistry Atlanta said about the video, “You can’t have a Valentine without Chemistry. Since our name plays into the celebration of love so well, we took the opportunity send out "We love working with you” gifts to all our clients. Then, we created a fun video that plays-off the old idea of a Love Potion. We asked agency folks to be the talent and had a great time creating it.”

T3 is spreading the love through “Thank You Grams” where employees are encouraged to pick up as many grams (see photos attached) as they want and write notes to their coworkers letting them know how great they are. The employees are then told to return the grams and T3 will hand them out to employees desks on Valentine’s day with a treat attached. T3 employees are encouraged to “have fun and share the love” for Valentine’s day.

BSSP is having a Happy Hour to celebrate all together at its Sausalito office with wine, cheese, craft beer and of course hundreds of chicken nuggets. The agency will be setting up a “prom” photo booth in its studio so people can take some fun photos with props, balloons, and coworkers!

Additionally, they are putting on a “Friendly-Wed” game with five FRIEND couples at work. Copying from the Newlywed Game, they are going to really test how much these friend couples know about each other. Who is the featured couple you ask? None other than Greg Stern and John Butler! Other couples feature a gal media duo, a new female creative duo, BSSP’s Executive Director of Production and Executive Producer, and lastly the previous new business team.

The BAM Connection’s culture team “BAM Lifted” creates events to inspire and continue to build a positive culture in the office. For Valentine’s Day, “BAM Lifted” is putting a spin on the “secret admirer” by having a competition where team members will have to guess which “secret” belongs to which person. On Valentine’s Day, the agency will break into two teams, play for 10 rounds, and select a winning team. Then, the winning team will break into two teams, and play against each other for the final prize – a team lunch with people who may not have normally gone out for lunch.

The goal of the Valentine’s Day event is to bring everyone a little closer by telling each other things they may not have known about each other outside of the office. The agency is hoping employees can see some similarities that can ultimately form bonds that would have otherwise not been born – all in the name of having a fun, friendly competition to celebrate the Valentine’s Day.

What cross-cultural, global creative agency The Community is doing:

Remember in your school years when you would send a Valentine’s Day gram to your friends or maybe even your crush? The Valentine’s Day grams were usually a chocolate of some sort or a single red rose.

Well, The Community’s Miami office has made the tradition more “grown up” for its employees. This Valentine’s, employees at The Community can fill out a gram and cupid will hand deliver them with rosé – not a rose but a small bottle of champagne rosé. Employees are also encouraged to post the grams they receive on the Gram – Instagram that is – by using the hashtag #tcMIA.
