If you Google “electric car charging stations” in Dubai, you might get a little shock. Google Maps lists 300 places to charge your vehicle, along with photos posted by the public. This gave BMW and its agency Serviceplan an idea. They drove electric BMWs to charging stations, plugged them in for a recharge, and took photos. Once all the pics were posted to Google Maps, the effect was to create a virtual showroom for BMW’s electric vehicles – at a very low spend. The slick campaign has just been rewarded at the Dubai Lynx with three Golds and three Bronzes.
