Taking chocolates out of the dark

Even with the guide you get in the box, finding your favourite chocolate can be a challenge when they all look the same. This brand helped those who are even more in need.

Life, as we learned from our old friend Forrest Gump, is like a box of chocolates. At Christmastime, chocolates are so present that you may have over-indulged. I’m partial to a praline, myself. But have you ever asked yourself how blind or partially-sighted people choose their favourite chocolates? Chocolatier Purdys solved the problem with a box featuring braille, which allows people with visual impairments to easily locate their favourite flavours (while avoiding that hard toffee one nobody likes). A QR code even enables them to hear an audio guide. As inclusivity goes, this idea really hits the sweet spot.
