Job description

MHTN Architects is seeking a talented Illustrator for Experiential Design to join our team. In this role, you'll conceptualize, design, and execute original digital illustrations for architectural applications in mid to large scale projects spanning sectors such as K-12, higher education, commercial, religious, medical, and municipal. You'll create visually captivating production-ready digital artwork tailored for printed wallcoverings, effectively communicating messages, and seamlessly integrating with architectural finishes. Collaborating closely with architects, interior designers, project managers, and other experts, you'll provide input and contribute to the creative process. Additionally, you'll work with cross-functional teams to ensure design concepts align with project timelines and feasibility with guidance from the Experiential Graphic Design Leader.

The Illustrator for Experiential Design is responsible for the development and research of design concepts and storytelling elements while adhering to client brand standards. The Illustrator for Experiential Design plays a key role in the presentation of design concepts and ideas to clients and stakeholders, articulating the rationale behind design decisions. Preparing and setting up files for printing and digital distribution, including pre-flighting, color correction, image manipulation, and optimization. Other key tasks include conducting thorough quality checks on all deliverables to ensure they meet brand standards, specifications, and project requirements. Managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively, and delivering high-quality work within established timelines and budget constraints.

The Illustrator for Experiential Design is to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to address feedback, clarify requirements, and ensure project objectives are met including the coordination and review of the fabrication progress, shop drawings, and installation for quality control. They will stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in design and production to continuously improve skills and processes.

Key Skills:
• Highly creative and imaginative with good verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work on time and within budget.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Ability to work within multiple design styles and standards as influenced by the holistic design concept.
• Proficiency in prepress and production processes, including color management, file preparation, and output for both print and digital media.
• Experience in Experiential Graphic Design, including experiential graphics, wayfinding systems, signage, and branded installations, preferred.
• Understanding of branding and storytelling strategies and their integration into the built environment, preferred.
• Knowledge of industry sustainability best practices and involvement with professional organizations in the field, preferred.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
• Bachelor of Fine Arts, Illustration, or Graphic Design or 2+ years of experience in illustration, graphic design, textile design, or a related role .
