Story The vast majority of women in Mexico (83%) have no credit history, which prevents opportunities to start businesses or gain financial independence through loan applications. The women don’t have traditional credit cards or other records, but they do participate in loans through local shops. Created with DDB Mexico, the spot looks at an initiative by WeCapital. The investment firm launched Data Tienda, a financial information center that has collected credit information for millions of Mexican women through the accounts of local shopkeepers. The initiative has led to 23% of women receiving microcredits from banks in Mexico.
