Story | Given the chance, most people will take the escalator instead of the stairs on their daily subway commute. Here's the first thermal imaging station that rewards commuters with discounts based on their body temperature. For example, if their body heat goes up by 70%, they get the equivalent money off at Sports Experts. The initiative encouraged people to sweat in a place where they would normally avoid it: Montreal’s deepest subway station, with 200-plus steps. The more you sweat, the more you get! This installation in Montreal encouraged people to take the stairs instead of the escalator when using the subway. If the thermal imaging technology showed they'd pushed their body temperature up by a certain percentage, they got the equivalent off at athletic gear retailer Sports Experts. |
