Story | In Israel there are over 14,000 homeless children. Without social structure and any living conditions, they often experience violence, sexual assault and drug abuse. Shanti House is an organization that serves as a temporary shelter for youth at risk. For over 150 children it's a place called home. Unlike the popular stereotype, these children came from every city, every neighborhood and every home. This year, to help raise awareness to Shanti House, we decided to create a unique campaign. On International Children's Day, we've teamed up with Ziv Koren, Israel's leading photographer, to create a special photo exhibition of homeless children in Israel. Invitations were sent to dozens of people, but they were in for a surprise – the children in the photos, were their own. The parents' reactions were documented in this movie with a very simple massage – what if it was your child. |
