Story Despite being Latin American pioneers in women's football, most of the historic goals of Costa Rican female players were not televised. This means that there are not a single video of the main goals in the history of Costa Rican women's football. In the lead-up of the Women's World Cup 2023, we wanted to change that story. We conducted a research with the leading female players in Costa Rica’s history, their families, and sports journalists, aiming to identify the most relevant non-televised football goals scored by Costa Rican women in the last 30 years. With the help of a professional gamer, we recreated them in FIFA 23, the first title of the franchise to include Costa Rican female players in the game. Therefore, we created the only existing video of the most iconic unseen goals of the country. The videos were hosted on a website where people could see all the goals and learn the story behind each one. We launched the campaign right before the start of the Australia-New Zealand 2023 World Cup, generating unprecedented support for Costa Rican women's football.
