Mitchell Caplan

I am proud to have been associated with some incredible companies. After graduating from the University of Maryland (where I later served on the Board of Governors and currently lecture) I started my career in Account Management in agencies in and around Washington DC and Baltimore. I was proud to have been, at the time, the youngest member of the Board of the AdClub of Baltimore. A few years after moving to NY City, I was fortunate enough to move into the digital space, eventually managing two of the leading firms in the US: thinknewideas (went public in 1996, sold in 1999) and President of Martin Interactive (part of The Martin Agency). Since the early 2000’s my roles have focused on the following: building and managing company brands, managing and mentoring teams, and new business. I spent the next few years helping more companies reestablish their brands and set themselves up for growth (including several startups such as Speakr and StreetEasy/Zillow). Working at Olson (owned by Private Equity) was a fantastic experience: great people, a great agency, and a great outcome for all (sold to ICF International). Helping the owners of Newsweek re-establish the brand and set it up for success was a never dull, fascinating ride through the publishing industry where data, technology, and reader consumption habits are ever evolving.
