Maria Pappalardo

Veteran casting director. First generation Italian-American. Native New Yorker. Pizza heiress.

Maria first started casting at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, while working on student films with her classmates. While still at BBDO, she met Sonic Union’s mixers Mike and Rob. She always loved their vibe. So, when she had the chance to be an independent casting director in 2010, she approached Sonic Union knowing it would be a natural fit to join forces.

Sonic Union Casting, helmed by Maria, specializes in voiceover casting for TV, radio, new media, animation, industrials, branded content and documentaries. Sonic Casting works with both Union and Non-Union talent, and casts in multiple languages on a regular basis.

Maria’s life outside of casting is comprised of Jedi training her nine-year-old, as well as keeping her restaurant, Rubirosa, on the hot list.
