Born in Montreal, Canada, Yv is a descendant of North America’s indigenous Huron Tribe. He entered at Préambule (supported by Cossette Group) at 19 while enforcing his degree at both Laval University and Université de Montréal. Yv then went on to nurture his talent at FCB, TBWA, Publicis, Isobar and Dufresne Corrigan Scarlett on global campaigns.
Yv Corbeil is the originator of Storywhispering™, a new marketing and communications philosophy for today’s context of brand building. First presented at Cannes Lions 2013, Storywhispering™ is defined as a distinct and recognisable way of storytelling - one that is more inclusive and participatory. Going beyond the soft-sell approach by having people buy the story, Storywhispering™ answers the needs of today’s media-weary consumers by inviting them to complete the story for themselves and interpret the brand’s story in a very personal way. The inspiration for the philosophy comes from a long reflection process, but erupted from Yv’s exasperation at the Storytelling approach – employed by so many major brands today – increasingly becoming pure ‘StoryYelling’.

In 2013, following the launch of his Storywhispering™ approach at Cannes Lions 2013, Yv published his Storywhispering™ Manifesto online, entitled: Who Do You Wanna Sleep With? The Yeller or the one who Whispers in your Ear?’ He is currently in the process of writing a book that will present the Storywhispering™ philosophy in full.
