After graduating early from Duke University Jose spent his early career directing high profile artists such as Young Money Records rapper Tyga and Def Jam's YG in the LA hip- hop music video circuit before transitioning to larger scale conceptually driven productions in the music video, commercial and narrative space.

He was recently selected to participate in the prestigious Alliance of Independent Reps Director Showcase, Shoot New Directors Showcase who screened his work at the DGA theater in New York, featured in Shots Unsigned and was twice selected as a finalist for the DGA/AICP's CDD Program as well as being a part of their 50/50 mentoring program and the AICP mentoring program.

His work has been featured by outlets such Shoot Magazine, Creative Review, The Stable, Eli Roth and Blumhouse's Crypt TV, Videostatic, Promonews, Imvdb, Fire Dog Lake, Ballerstatus.com, and screened at The International Music Video Festival, Imperial Valley Film Festival, Hola Mexico Film Festival, Katra Film Series and many more. Jose wrote and directed the Hands Free or Die PSA which was purchased by Eli Roth & Blumhouse's Crypt TV and instrumental in launching the innovative online platform. It was also a 2016 Promax BDA Awards Finalist and One Club One Screen Finalist. Jose's video for Blue Note Records artist Vintage Trouble's song "Gracefully" was heavily promoted by Honda, who feature the band in one of their major broadcast advertising campaigns airing during the Super Bowl. His short film "The Hands of Time" was also selected as one of the top submissions in Ben Affleck and Matt Damon's renowned and highly competitive Project Greenlight Competition.

Jose’s work has also garnered major worldwide media coverage from outlets such as Time, Adweek, CNN, The Washington Post, Bill Maher, Upworthy, Mashable, Huffington Post and many more. His work has been the recipient of the prestigious Silver Epica Award and to date has received over 20 million views online. The short Goodbye Celia he edited was shortlisted at the One Club's One Screen Festival, as was "Radius", a sci-fi short he directed starring Robert Murray Duncan of Stargate SG1.

He was born in Montreal to Venezuelan and Chinese parents and takes pride in the fact that he makes universal films about the power of the human spirit.
