Creative & Production House: Num Films Director: Umair Nasir Ali Producer: Rumina Umair DP: Mo Azmi A Project by Govt Of Pakistan (Detail Credit List at the end of Video) To mark the 75th Anniversary of the Independence of Pakistan, the Government of Pakistan presents the Re-Recorded National Anthem of Pakistan - as per the original score and words. The original brilliant musical score was composed by Ahmed G.Chagla in 1949 and formally approved by Prime Minster Liaquat Ali Khan soon after. The beautiful inspiring words by the eminent poet Abu Al-Asar Hafeez Jalandhari were written and formally approved in 1953-1954. The first official recording was conducted in 1954. This first version featured a limited number of voices and was recorded with the facilities available at that time. In the succeeding 70 years however, there have been major developments in music technology as also in the emergence of diverse musical talent in the country. Conceptualising the story board for the Official National Anthem has been the most tough and overwhelming. The aim was to keep the sanctity intact and for it to be ageless and new every time someone looks at it for years to come. For us this video is an emotional translation of our feelings for the place that defines us that is “Pakistan” Every time I recite the National Anthem it gives me Goosebumps as it flows like a prayer for everything this country is and everything we want this country to be. A country is truly defined by it’s people and so we have used real people almost everywhere throughout the video keeping it inclusive and real. Adding immense value to the video are the maestros Rohail Hayat & Arshad Mehmood who have beautifully Rerecorded the Audio as per the original composition by Mr Ahmed G Chaghla’s composition and Mr Hafeez Julundhri’s Words. This has been a journey that can’t be put into words and during it we have been blessed to be a part of the team that has created history by rerecording the National Anthem after 68 years. To work closely with the veterans of the industry has been an experience to cherish forever.
