BRANDS AND AGENCIES REVIVED THEIR IMAGINATIONS TO DELIVER WORK THAT GRABBED EYES AND WON HEARTS.

With the exception of Jung Von Matt’s very welcome print campaign – which takes a dramatic tack – the word “fun” might be used to describe the top auto campaigns this time around. Even the “Tough Turban” initiative featured at number one, from Canada’s Zulu Alpha Kilo, feels good-natured and big-hearted. VW returned to the top five with a TV ad that concealed a game, the graphically brilliant “MINImalism” continued to win fans, and the “Pudding” spot from Mercedes was colourful and bouncy. To take pole position in the automotive sector, no mere product demonstration is enough; quirk and originality win the day.

Story Since 1959, MINI has stayed true to its roots: a simplistic, iconic design with outstanding longevity that inspires fans to this day. The brand stands for an urban lifestyle with maximum experiences in a minimalistic space. But today’s models offer more than just an efficient and creative way to get around. They are technology-packed with state-of-the-art safety and comfort features. This is well known to MINI drivers, but not so much to people outside of the car’s fanbase.
MINImalism – a feature communication built from the iconic MINI logo’s wings. We turn those stripes into versatile design elements to communicate the new features and assistants, as simplistic and iconic as the car itself.
The stripes taken from the logo’s wings showcase the car’s new features and assistants – from Adaptive LED Headlights to Park Distance Control – and allow us to build functions and surroundings in a surprising but simple way. This new design language is used across different outdoor and indoor channels where the iconic elements are instantly recognized – creating true MINImalism, as simple and timeless as the car itself.

Story Drive2Extremes was a film created to show the true capabilities of Porsche’s all-electric Taycan Cross Turismo. Shot in two wildly contrasting locations (some 60°C and 7,000KM apart) by renowned pilot Johnny FPV, our Director Nicholas Schrunk had to meticulously plan each shot to allow for seamless transitions between the two worlds. We drove 1243 laps and shot 50 hours of footage using custom drones for never-before-flown cameras to tell the story of two contrasting yet connected worlds. 800 hours were spent in post-production with 0 CGI or VFX used, and our sound was designed to blend two extreme worlds into one.

Story The wind turbine symbolises renewable energy. The three-pointed star symbolizes Mercedes-Benz. The idea was simple: to exploit the striking visual similarity between the two to transform one of Europe’s largest wind turbines (120m x 70m) into an illuminated Mercedes-Benz logo on a truly iconic scale. The objective was to announce to the world that the brand and renewable energy would soon be working together on a global scale. The installation was staged for real, using eco-friendly lights and smoke, and was visible for miles around.

Story To remind Irish drivers of the zero carbon credentials of Ireland’s bestselling all-electric cars, Volkswagen’s ID.3 and ID.4, we turned to the humblest tool of them all: a pencil, and chose the biggest blank canvas of them all: a 48-sheet billboard. We hand-drew, in pencil, in-situ and over 48 hours an (almost) zero carbon billboard advertisement, simply yet powerfully highlighting the zero carbon credentials of the Volkswagen ID.3 and ID.4.

Story When searching for a second hand car, the biggest fear Thai people have is being scammed by second hand dealers and . Car Hero, a Thai brand offers professionalism, peace of mind and confidence to car dealers.Car Hero, with its wide selection of used cars and reliable service, wanted to win over hesitant customer’s hearts. We knew that the best way to offer our customers relief was to educate them and show them we are the real deal when it comes to used cars. Through a our online video, we informed potential second hand car buyers of different scams and that we are truly on their side.This entertaining and hilarious short film positioned Car Hero as a real superhero, because of our thorough inspection of every car. The film centers around a man in search of a second hand car arriving at a Car Hero dealership. When he finds a car that catches his interest, he is instantly suspicious. Checking every nook and cranny for signs of damage, he wonders what the dealership is hiding. But to his surprise, the salesman enlightens him about Car Hero's high standards of inspection.
